Mississauga Hydro also known as Enersource Corporation provides both Energy and telecommunication services in Mississauga and around the world. The main focus of Enersource is still to fulfill hydro needs to both residential and industry.
Business Challenge
Current legacy system, which number approximately 15, no longer meets needs of every changing utility business.
Solution
Provide Technical Lead support in implementation and conversion of legacy systems to new ERP solution.
- Role required interviewing business team members, to determine current business and future business model, interviewing of third party vendors to enable the development of interfaces, and conversion to new ERP solution.
- Build design specification, to be used by programmers to develop interfaces, conversions, and enhancements to new solutions.
- Develop code as specified in approved specs by business team.
- Create Test spec, and execute to ensure new system performs as designed.
- Mentor, and knowledge transfer to internal technical team.
- Build both batch, and online interfaces to third party software, such as GPS software, Gas Meter software, Billing software, and Time entry.
- Enhance Work Management system to capture and manage customer calls.
- Create an automated system to request quotation for inventory items, and all other goods and services.
